Free Concert

The musical group “Second Chances” will be holding a free concert at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Gentry Church of God (Holiness). The church is located just north of the Gentry police station, at 104 North Collins. For more information, please contact Pastor Dan at 626-831-2942.

Quilt Class Holiday Potluck

The next meeting will be a holiday potluck at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at the home of Cleta Whitman on Mount Olive Road in Gravette. Those attending should bring a snack to share and an ornament. For questions, call hostess Whitman at 721-9939.

Booster Club Auction

The Gentry High School Academic Booster Club will hold its silentauction Tuesday, Jan. 10. Special items offered include a Pioneer T-shirt quilt made by GHS biology teacher Toni Sarratt and a Razorback painting by Randy Jo Kelso (perfect for a Razorback fan). The Academic Booster Club supports every GHS student and the scholarship fund. To donate an item or place a bid, contact Pat Barnes at 736-2714 or Martha Hawkins at Gentry High School, 736-2666.

Gravette CPR Class

A CPR class will be offered in the Gravette area Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Gravette Civic Center. The class will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a $40 charge and those interested should register at the city hall, 787-5368, by Jan. 9.

Tuesday Bible Study

Bible studies (non-denominational) are heldat 7 p.m. each Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church in Gravette. All are welcome. For more information, call Bill Bush, pastor, at 283-9346.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Falling Springs Church are held at 7 p.m., the first Friday of each month. The church is located northwest of Gentry and west of Decatur on Falling Springs Road.

Computers for Students

The Gentry Lions Club is accepting used computers to be refurbished and given to students needing a computer. Theclub is currently accepting desktops and laptops. Hard drives are reformatted and a new operating system installed before they are given away. For more information or to donate a computer, call Randy Moll at 233-0081.

Decatur Food Pantry

The Decatur United Methodist Church offers a food pantry program and a commodity food program for residents in Decatur from 5 to 7 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of each month.

VFW Meetings

Decatur VFW Post 9834 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102, right on Tilly’s Hill Road, and the first building on the right.
