Decatur has comeback win against Haas Hall

The Bulldogs continued their winning streak, beating Haas Hall Academy 43-38 in a non-conference game last week Tuesday. Decatur got off to a good start, ending the first quarter ahead 13-6. But the Bulldogs made some key turnovers that let Haas Hall back in the game during the second quarter, for a half-time score of 21-18 Decatur, said John Unger, Decatur basketball coach and athletic director. Haas Hall Academy pulled slightly ahead in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs came back for a win in the fourth. “We came back from a deficit. We were not shooting well and made some mistakes and we came back. That says a lot,” Unger said. Sophomore Mario Urquidi led in scoring with 14 points, 16 rebounds and three blocked shots. His twin brother Victor Urquidi scored nine points and made nine rebounds and had three steals. Senior Andrew Harris also scored nine and made seven rebounds.
