Desserts aid area children

— Six After School Program students gave of their time Nov. 24 to help others spend their money at the Seventh Annual Dessert Auction, held at Shiloh’s Cafeteria by Sulphur’s Special Events committee.

Each child picked one item from the more than 60 Christmas decorated goodies setting on one of the five tables until it was sold. They presented pies, cakes, cookies and candies to the auction’s master of ceremony and local auctioneer, Dwayne Craig. Craig tempted more than 30 bidders in attendance.

The event earned more than $3,000 to help purchase food baskets and Christmas presents this year for area
