GRAVETTE — A total of 1,802 students were in attendance on the opening day of school at Gravette, Aug. 19. This does not include 42 pre-kindergarten children attending a special program offered by the school. A grade-by-grade enumeration was not immediately available, but a tally of students in the four various schools shows fi gures comparable to last year. In Glenn Duffy Elementary, which includes grades K, 1 and 2, 402 students were in attendance, compared to 390 last year. In Gravette Upper Elementary, grades 3, 4 and 5, the total was 385 compared to 403 the previous year. Gravette Middle School, grades 6, 7 and 8, total was 447, up from 439 last year.
