What is the point? Five U.S. destroyers sitting off the coast of Syria, our military standing at the ready, Secretary of State John Kerry makes a strong case about striking at a ruthless murderer for gassing his own people, many of them children. Then our “leader,” and I certainly use that term loosely, announces he has decided to strike Syria via a big media event, like he always does whenever he has to make a decision that no other president could possibly make on his own. He states that the atrocities are so egregious that action is a necessity. Oh, and he now wants to run it by Congress with a vote scheduled for Sept. 9. Then it was time for golf for Obama and Biden. Really, are you serious? The atrocities are not too bad to interfere with the Labor Day holiday and golf. This completely defi es logic. Military leaders are scratching their heads while vacationer-in-chief is playing golf and off to Europe. Guess he didn’t get enough golf during vacation just two weeks ago.
