STILLWATER, Okla. -- Jacy Alsup, an agribusiness senior from Gravette, has been selected as an Oklahoma State University 2014 Outstanding Senior by the OSU Alumni Association. She is the daughter of Danny and Debbie Alsup.

The Outstanding Senior award recognizes seniors who excel through academic achievement; campus and community activities; academic, athletic or extra-curricular honors or awards; scholarships and work ethic during their time at OSU.

During her time at OSU, Alsup served as president, vice president of student affairs, student spokesperson and senate chair for the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. She also served as vice president of Chi Omega fraternity, chairman of the National Junior Angus Association Board of Directors, Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Encounter Class X, and OSU Mortar Board-Achafoa Chapter. Throughout the community, Alsup has served as a Wish Week Coach for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a 4-H Volunteer Adult Resources Leader, a CASNR Student Academic Mentor (Ag1011), an OSU Campus Tour Guide, and a "Big Event" Volunteer. Alsup's awards include Top 10 Freshman Women, OSU P.E. Harrill Outstanding Freshman Award, OSU Top 15 Homecoming Royalty, and OSU Senior of Significance.

"As I near the completion of my collegiate career, I reflect on my time at Oklahoma State -- intramural games, the Barn, study sessions at Edmon Low, homecoming football games, meeting my lifelong friends," Alsup says. "I am thankful for each experience that allowed me to grow up here. I am most thankful, however, for the thing that can never be taken away -- my education."

After graduating, Alsup plans to move to Tulsa and pursue a career in sales with PepsiCo.

Alsup is one of 15 students selected for the 2013 Outstanding Senior award. The OSU Alumni Association Student Awards and Selection Committee selected the 15 winners after meeting with 45 of the Seniors of Significance selected in the fall of 2014 and reviewing their applications.

A public banquet honoring the Outstanding Seniors will be held April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater. Tickets may be purchased online at orangeconnection.org/osdinner or by calling 405.744.8711.
