Football scrimmage, pep rally offered at Gravette Day

Gravette Day offers something for everyone. Sports fans will enjoy the football scrimmage scheduled for 9 a.m. at Lion Stadium.

Athletic director Norman Mitchell says this annual scrimmage will feature two teams of GHS varsity players.

Gravette is a force to be reckoned with on the football field. Preseason polls have the Lions picked third in their conference.

The players will be introduced at a pep rally at 3 p.m. that afternoon in Kindley Park, along with senior athletes in other sports. The 2015 senior class will also be introduced.

The Gravette High School band, under the direction of James Hendrix, will play for the pep rally; and Misty Flynt, cheerleading coach, will have the 12-member cheerleader squad on hand to fire up the crowd.

The pep rally will continue until about 4 p.m. when the Tiny Tot contest begins.
