GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers traveled to Berryville on Friday but were unable to gain the upper hand on the basketball court, losing 64-27.
The Lady Pioneers got off to a slow start in the opening quarter, picking up only four points on shots by Mallory Morris and Haley Borgeteien-James. The Lady Bobcats, on the other hand, had 14 by the first buzzer.
Though the Lady Pioneers outscored their opponents by one in the second quarter, putting 12 points on the board, the Lady Bobcats put the game away in the third, racking up 31 points to the Lady Pioneers' 6.
Amber Ellis led the Lady Pioneers in points with eight. Borgeteien-James had six, Rachel Lawrence had five, and Morris had four. Ellis also led in rebounds, with three.
Scores from the boys' game at Berryville were not yet available at press time.
