Dirt Devils runners up in state tournament

Submitted Photo The Gentry U16 Dirt Devils played at their state tournament last weekend in Harrison and finished as first runners up with only nine girls playing at the event. The Dirt Devils had two triple plays, four double plays, four home runs and 36 RBIs. Kalie Blackbear was the starting pitcher and had 12 strike outs. Maranda Guntharp was relief pitcher with four strike outs. The umpires said they were very impressed with the abilities and talents of these girls and their tremendous sportsmanship displayed on and off the field. The team has an invitation to advance to regional play in Dumas, Texas, later this month.
