Barbecue will have games for kids

DECATUR -- Kids games have always been a part of the Decatur Barbecue since 1953. The early games featured a frog-catching contest, three-legged race, and turtle races.

Some of those same events are back in the 61st Annual Decatur Barbecue at Veterans Park Aug. 2.

The kids games will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 12 p.m.

Age Groups:

· 4-6 years old

· 7-9 years old

· 10-12 years old

Games:

· Water Balloon Toss

· Egg Race

· Three-Legged Race

· Sack Race

· Hula Hoop Contest

· Turtle Race

Prizes will be available for all children.
