DECATUR -- Legends Equestrian Center in Decatur held a hunter-jumper horse show on Saturday and Sunday.

Horses and riders of all levels competed over fences and on the flat. More advanced riders rode on Saturday, jumping fences up to 3 feet, 3 inches. Younger and beginning riders competed on Sunday.

The hunter-jumper style of riding is a classic form of horsemanship based on the traditions of fox hunting. Riders can compete over fences, or on the flat -- without jumps. Hunter classes are judged on the horse's movement and form. Jumping classes are judged on accuracy and time. Points are deducted from either class for knocking down a rail.

The show was sanctioned by the Northwest Arkansas Hunter Jumper Association.
