Pioneers defeat invading Pirates

GENTRY -- After games were canceled and postponed due to the wintry weather earlier this month, the Pioneers faced off against the Geenland Pirates on March 12 at the Reynolds Memorial Complex in Gentry and picked up a big win, 11-1, in their first home game since losing to Siloam Springs in a benefit game in late February.

Gentry's Wyatt Clark was the winning pitcher. He pitched two innings, had three strikeouts, allowed one hit and walked two.

At bat, Ryan Hockenberry was two for five, had one RBI and scored once; Cole Ellison was two for three, scored twice and had one stolen base; Dusty Haag was two for three, walked once and scored once; Brent Barker was two for four, had two RBIs, and scored once; Jaleel Field was two for four, had two RBIs and scored once; Josh Cochran was two for two, walked once, was hit by a pitch and scored twice; Tucker Willet was one for four, had four RBIs and scored once; Dustin Stoufflett was one for four, had two RBIs and scored once.
