GENTRY -- Police arrested Tou Thao, 20, of Collinsville, Okla., on May 3, charging him with sexual indecency with a child, a Class D felony.

Thao, according to an affidavit of probable cause, is alleged to have had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old Gentry girl at a Fayetteville motel.

According to statements of Thao and the victim, Thao had corresponded with the victim through Facebook and came to Gentry and picked up the victim on May 2, took her shopping in Fayetteville and to a motel room before bringing her back home to Gentry after midnight on May 3.

Both said this had been the first time they had met and been together, with all previous contact being through Facebook, the affidavit states.

Thao was being held in the Benton County Jail on Monday, with bond set at $50,000.

Drug Charges

Police arrested Jonathan Adams, 21, of rural Gentry, following a traffic stop, for allegedly being in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

According to police reports, Adams was stopped in a black Chevrolet pickup truck on Main Street May 9 because the license tags did not match the vehicle registration. Adams could not provide a driver's license, proof of insurance or current registration, police reports state.

Adams' driver's license was suspended, according to police reports, and when the pickup truck was inventoried prior to towing, a small metal pipe and a small bag of what police believed to be marijuana was found in the truck.

Adams was cited and released on misdemeanor drug and driving charges. His truck was towed.

Multiple Charges

On May 8, police also cited Jessica R. Comfort, 31, of Gentry, charging her with leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a valid driver's license, no insurance, public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations. The charges, according to police, stem from her involvement in a motor vehicle accident on the Walmart parking lot in Gentry.
