Christmas parade set on December 6

GRAVETTE -- December is almost here and folks in Gravette are getting in the holiday spirit. Plans have been made for the annual Christmas parade to be held Saturday, Dec. 6, beginning at 6 p.m. Several floats are expected to appear in the parade, including one featuring jolly old Santa himself.

The parade will follow its usual route west on Charlotte St., north on Hwy. 59 to Main Street, and east on Main to the Kindley Memorial Park, where Santa will stop to hear the youngsters' requests. The Gravette community choir will be singing carols in the park following the parade, and representatives from the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center plan to serve hot chocolate and cookies.

After children have visited Santa in the park and everyone has warmed up with cups of hot chocolate and the Center's delicious cookies, everyone is invited to come to the civic center, one block south of the park on Charlotte Street. There the family can enjoy free chili and musical entertainment, mayor Byron Warren announced.
