Springtown plans fall cleanup

SPRINGTOWN -- The town of Springtown will hold a fall cleanup and household waste collection event from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 18 (no material can be accepted after noon, so residents are urged to arrive no later than 11:30 a.m.

Items may be brought to the town's storage yard, located at 11919 Readings Rd. (south of Arkansas Highway 12).

Items accepted include bulky waste, such as furniture, appliances, metal items and larger items not normally collected in the weekly residential trash collection (except yard waste, brush and wood); hazardous waste at a cost of $5 per vehicle paid by the town for those with proof of residency; up to four tires per legal resident ($2 per tire for additional tires or for tires brought by non-residents and $3 each if with rims).

All occupants must stay inside their vehicles for safety reasons. Containers will not be returned and should be disposable. Different types of items should not be mixed in containers.
