GENTRY -- The Gentry powerlifting team (an unsanctioned sport in Arkansas) competed in the 31st annual Natural Athlete Strength Association High School National Powerlifting Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla., on March 28.

The club had nine lifters that competed in powersports and unequipped bench press -- powersports is a combination of bench press, curl and deadlift.

The Gentry athletes won a team national championship, with five bench press national champions and two runners up. Gentry is the first high school powerlifting team to win a national championship in the state of Arkansas.
