Police investigating barbershop burglary Reward being offered for information leading to arrest, conviction

GENTRY -- Police are investigating a commercial burglary and theft which occurred over the weekend at the barbershop on Main Street in Gentry.

According to police, an unknown person or persons pried open the door to the business and stole a small undisclosed amount of cash from the business, in addition to some vandalism.

Police say the crime occurred between noon on Saturday and Monday morning. They are encouraging anyone with information to call the police department at 736-8400.

A $500 reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the barbershop burglary, police say.

Police are also investigating multiple incidents of vandalism involving spray painting on sidewalks, walls, playground equipment and other property. The incidents have been going on over the past three months and are becoming more common, according to police.

Again, police are asking that anyone with information on the vandalism call 736-8400 so that further incidents can be stopped and those responsible can be charged and held accountable for damages.
