Bake and Yard Sale

Gentry Senior Activity and Wellness Center is having a bake and yard sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17, at the center. Proceeds will be used to support the senior meal program.

Cemetery Cleanup

Falling Springs Cemetery will hold its annual clean up day at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 18. Patrons of the cemetery are asked to bring tools and come help. A board meeting will follow the cleanup.

The annual Daniel Cemetery cleanup day is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. The cemetery is located on North Mt. Pleasant Road, between Gravette and Hiwasse, off Arkansas Highway 72.

Tired Iron Spring Crank Up

Tired Iron of the Ozarks will host its 23rd annual Spring Crank Up at its show grounds on Friday, April 17, through Sunday, April 19. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Events include operating saw mills, a blacksmith shop with working blacksmiths, a parade of power at noon, antique engines and tractors, antique home furnishings, and much, much more. The featured tractor and engine at this spring's show will be International. Admission and parking are free. The club showgrounds are located at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry. Gospel Jamboree

The second annual Lahoma Kay Roberts Memorial Gospel Singing Jamboree is set for Saturday, April 25, at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. A meal begins at 3:30 p.m., and singing at 5 p.m. Gospel singing will be performed by singers and groups from the four-state area in an open microphone format, meaning everyone is welcome to come and share songs. Cherokee singers and groups will also perform songs in the Cherokee language in addition to traditional songs sung in English. Hog meat, brown beans, fry bread and potato wedges will be provided for the meal. Side dishes are welcome and invited to go with the meal. Great Lego Build-off

Imagine Before and After School Care will host its third annual Great Lego Build-off on Saturday, May 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. for Lego enthusiasts of all ages (7 to 107 plus). No kits are allowed. Creation must be the builder's own. Bring a best creation and enter the Build-off contest. All participants will receive a certificate. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. Enrollment Packets

Glenn Duffy Elementary's ABCSS pre-kindergarten program (4-year-olds) and kindergarten enrollment packets are available at school and online -- 601 El Paso Street, S.E., Gravette, 479-787-4120, or gde.gravetteschools.net and look under the Parents tab for enrollment packets. Children must live in the Gravette School District. Pre-K children must be 4 years of age on or before Aug. 1, 2015. Kindergarten children must be 5 years of age on or before Aug. 1.

Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten Enrollment

Decatur Northside Elementary School will be holding kindergarten and pre-kindergarten registration on April 29 and April 30. Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school office, located at 9083 Mount Olive Road in Decatur. Pre-K slots are based on income need for children ages 3-4. Due to a grant, the school expects to have 20 additional Pre-K slots. To be eligible to enroll in kindergarten, students must turn 5 before Aug. 1. Proof of residence, shot records, birth certificates, Social Security numbers and a physical for children is required. Registration packets may be picked up before April 29. Go7 Food Program

The Go7 food program's next free food giveaway will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Gravette Civic Center (Boys and Girls Club building) on Charlotte St., S.E. The program is open to the public and requires no proof of income. Bags may be brought. The food program will continue on the last Saturday of each month at the same time and location.

Coupon Signup

A representative from the Area Agency on Aging will be at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity and Wellness Center, located at 1870 Limekiln Rd. in Gravette, on Thursday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to sign up seniors to receive coupons that can be used to purchase fruits, vegetables, herbs and honey from local farmers' markets. A photo identification and proof of household income is needed to sign up. Coupon recipients must be 60 or older and meet monthly income guidelines -- one person, $1,815; family of two, $2,456; family of three, $3,098; family of four, $3,739; add $642 for each additional member. Each household will be issued one coupon book for the program year. Coupons are good through Oct. 31. For more information, call 787-5950. Computer Skills Classes

Classes in basic computer skills are held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Gravette Public Library. Tuesday classes are for beginners and Wednesday's are for more advanced students. Cost of the classes is $5 per person. Classes are small so everyone can ask questions and get help. Farmers' Market

The Gravette Farmers' Market will open for its eighth season on Saturday, April 18, and run through November. The market will operate on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Old Town Park, 110 Park Drive, in Gravette. It will feature locally-grown produce, flowers, meats and more. Gravette Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at 12 noon on the first and the third Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Hwy. 59 N. Election for new officers will be held April 21. New members are welcome.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gentry Lions Club

Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in the McKee Community Room, in the Gentry Public Library, on Main Street at N. Collins Ave. New members and visitors are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn. Everyone is invited.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome. The facility is three miles east of Decatur on Arkansas Highway 102 and right on Tilly's Hill Road.
