GENTRY -- Rains put a damper on another spring show of the Tired Iron of the Ozarks -- the fifth year in the row, according to a number of Tired Iron members. Rainy weather all weekend kept the crowds away and many participants, too.

The lineup of tractors in the parade of power was noticeably smaller, and the number of engines and displays was far less than usual. The parking area, often full of cars and trucks, was limited to a couple rows of soggy parking.

But the show did go on. There were blacksmiths working in the blacksmith shop and the sounds of hit-and-miss engines could still be heard.

Members are now looking forward to the fall show, the weekend after Labor Day in September, and hoping the weather will be a bit better.
