GRAVETTE -- Fifty-two Gravette High School students traveled to Hot Springs on March 11 for the HOSA state competition. HOSA is a club designed for high school students in ninth through 12th grades interested in pursuing careers in the medical professions.

While in Hot Springs, the students competed in many different medical categories, including forensics, medical ethics and law and dental assisting, to name a few. Many of the events included a knowledge test, followed by a practical skills test in the afternoon. More than 600 students from across the state competed.

Gravette High School students brought home 13 gold medals, eight silver medals and seven bronze medals. They won 28 individual medals and six team medals for a total of 34.
