Holiday spending workshop designed to lower money worries

GRAVETTE -- The Gravette Public Library is hosting a class on "Holiday Spending: Money and Stress Tips" from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. The class, to be held at the library, is designed to help shoppers lower their stress, enjoy the season and avoid starting the new year with a "holiday spending hangover."

Members in the class will learn about budget-busters, low-cost and no-cost gift ideas, ways to lower holiday stress and much more. It is the first of a series of financial workshops which will be offered in cooperation with Credit Counseling of Arkansas. There is no charge as the class will be financed by a grant through CCOA.

The class will be taught by Mark Foster, director of education for CCOA, who promises this will be "a fun class that talks about how to enjoy the holidays without overspending." Foster is a licensed professional counselor and a certified consumer credit educator with CCOA. He said snacks, drinks and prizes will be provided.

Anyone interested in attending must register at the library by calling 479-787-6955 or emailing [email protected]. Those interested may also come by the library, at 407 Charlotte Street, S.E., and register in person.
