GENTRY -- In the first half, it looked like the Pioneers had all under control and would easily add a big win to the other homecoming festivities of the week, but the visiting Bobcats didn't go down without a fight, scoring a touchdown in the second quarter and two in the third to make the final, 38-22, in favor of Gentry.

Gentry took the lead early in the first quarter with a touchdown run by C.J. Taylor; and Taylor, along with Cole Cripps and the Faulkenberry brothers, Jake and Jon, continued to find holes and pick up long yardage for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers were up, 16-0, by the end of the first quarter and 22-6 at the half. In the third quarter, the Bobcats rallied back with 16 points of their own, but the Pioneers matched it, making the final after a scoreless fourth quarter, 38-22.

With the win, Gentry is now 3-2 and 3-0 at home. They travel to Huntsville Friday to play the Eagles in a 4A Region 1 test. The Eagles are 2-3 for season and lost, 45-7, in their game against Shiloh Christian.
