Council approves lot split

GRAVETTE -- Gravette City Council met for a short session Thursday night with all council members and city attorney David Bailey present. Bailey explained that he was absent from the committee of the whole meeting because he was attending a meeting in Pine Bluff.

In the only item of new business, council members passed an ordinance approving a lot split for property at 13310 Dickson Road in Hiwasse owned by Jimmy and Rhonda Jarvis.

Councilwoman Margo Thomas requested a report on the cost of Gravette Day activities be given at the Sept. 10 committee of the whole meeting.

Mayor Kurt Maddox reported the deal for purchase of school properties in Gravette and Hiwasse had been closed. The city has received no response to calls inquiring about the Holloway property adjoining the Hiwasse purchase.

Patrick Hall reported he had created a link on the city website where persons could connect to any ordinance passed by the council.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
