Gentry man arrested in sexual assault case

GENTRY -- Police arrested Jacob Allen Piguet, 21, of Gentry, in connection with three counts of sexual assault in the 4th degree, Class D felonies, for allegedly having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, Piguet is alleged to have admitted to the sexual contact with the girl in Gentry, and the juvenile's's statements corroborate his admissions.

Bond requested in the affidavit was $30,000 and Piguet has already bonded out of the Benton County Jail.

Police are also investigating a fraud case in which perpetrators allegedly told a Gentry resident he had won a large amount of money from Publisher's Clearing House and asked him to send a check to pay for taxes and other expenses.

Police warn residents never to send money to callers offering prizes or payments or threatening lawsuits or legal actions. Police have also received reports of callers claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service and demanding payments to stop arrest warrants or bank account seizures and caution residents against such scams.
