Fall Round-Up set at Springtown Church

SPRINGTOWN -- The annual Fall Round-Up, sponsored by the Springtown Seventh-day Adventist Church, will be held Oct. 1-3 and feature one of America's oldest gospel quartets and first-person dramatizations of Jesus' miracles.

Dick Stenbakken will present first-person narratives depicting miracles of Jesus. Stenbakken will transform himself into the leper, blind man and others healed and touched by Jesus. Borrowing from the power of parables, he transports his audience into Biblical stories to communicate the miracles that happen when Christ enters a person's life.

Stenbakken began his career as a pastor in Wyoming, then spent the next 24 years on active duty as an Army chaplain. He saw combat duty in Vietnam and spent four years as director of Family Life Ministries for the Army Chief of Chaplains Office. After retiring as a full colonel, he directed chaplaincy ministries on a world-wide basis for the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Stenbakken has traveled the world presenting his first-person Bible characterizations.

The King's Heralds, in existence since 1927, is the oldest continuous gospel quartet in America. They will sing during Friday and Saturday Fall Round-Up meetings. The group will have a full concert on Saturday at 3 p.m. The group has recorded more than 100 albums in 30 different languages. Their rich blend, harmony and balance has been heard worldwide in more than 50 countries. They were the first Christian gospel group from the West to tour in China since 1949. They were also able to perform numerous concerts in Cuba.

Closer to home in America, The Kings Heralds have performed for the Christian Booksellers Association; National Association of Religious Broadcasters; Trinity Broadcasting Network; Baptist World Alliance; and thousands of churches, hospitals and prisons.

Fall Round-Up meetings will be held Thursday and Friday evenings, Oct. 1 and 2, at 7 p.m. Meetings and activities will take place all day Saturday, Oct. 3. Saturday highlights include a 10:45 a.m. worship service, 3 p.m. concert by The Kings Heralds, and a 6:30 p.m. meeting. Stenbakken will depict a Bible character at all three evening meetings and the Saturday worship service.
