OCH holding open house, lantern launch Thursday

GRAVETTE -- Ozarks Community Hospital at Gravette is hosting an open house for the public from 5 to 7:30 p.m. this Thursday. The hospital has expanded services, installed new state-of-the art equipment and added staff members in recent months and invites everyone to come see all the improvements.

Tours will be given of the hospital, including the new, updated radiology equipment, the remodeled therapy department and the Living Well Holistic Center, which has been open only about a month. The Living Well Holistic Center, on the second floor of the hospital, provides an intense outpatient clinic for geriatric behavioral health for persons over age 65.

Refreshments will be served and drawings will be held for door prizes.

Lantern Launch

Following the OCH open house, at 7:45 p.m., a lantern launch to "Light Up the Night to End Alzheimer's" will be held. The lanterns launched will honor all those impacted by Alzheimer's and other related dementias. Persons can purchase lanterns for family members or friends now suffering from Alzheimer's or in honor of those they have lost to Alzheimer's. The lanterns are eco-friendly, wire free and fire resistant.

All proceeds from the lantern launch will benefit Alzheimer's awareness. Proceeds will be given to the Frank and Barbara Broyles Foundation, which provides training for healthcare professionals and at-home caregivers for Alzheimer's sufferers.
