DECATUR -- The Decatur Future Farmers of America officer team had a great opportunity to show off its leadership skills March 15, assisting the parking team at National Ag Day at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville.

The Decatur team was one of several from around the state to join with others from across the nation to celebrate an industry that produces the goods needed to fuel the world's economy.

The conference included presentations from Dorn Wenninger, vice president of Walmart's produce and floral; Brent Butler, Farm Family of the Year; Delia Haak, executive director of the Illinois River Watershed Partnership; John Pennington, executive director of Beaver Watershed Alliance; and Governor Asa Hutchinson, keynote speaker.

In the afternoon, officers from the Decatur FAA team took the opportunity to attend a seminar highlighting Benton County as the top agriculture income county in the state.

Seven members from the Decatur FFA chapter attended the event: Kara Gregory, Alisun Watson, Cayden Bingham, Wyatt Bingham, Bracy Owens, Lidia Soto and Haley Burden.
