GENTRY -- The Gentry High School baseball team lost to Pea Ridge on March 29 but trampled Berryville and shut out West Fork on Thursday and Friday.

On March 29, the Blackhawks flew into Pioneer territory. CJ Taylor was on the mound for the Pioneers and allowed only four hits and one earned run, but the Pioneers couldn't get it done with their bats and lost, 2-1, in the league game. Taylor threw eight strike outs in just under six innings.

Gentry's only run came in the bottom of the fifth when Ayden Smartt singled to the shortstop and later made it home when Taylor hit a hard ground ball to third and made it on because of a Pea Ridge error.
