Kiwanis pancake breakfast kicks off Gravette Day

GRAVETTE -- Gravette Day events will kick off early on Saturday, Aug. 13, with the annual Kiwanis Club pancake breakfast, beginning at 6:30 a.m. The pancake breakfast will be held in the middle school cafeteria.

Serving of pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee will continue until 10 a.m. Cost for the meal will be $5 for all you can eat, and youngsters 6 and under can eat free.

Betty Howard, a noted Gravette quilter and wife of former Gravette mayor Bill Howard, has donated a lovely basket-weave pattern quilt for the Kiwanis Club to raffle off. Chances are available for $1 each or six for $5. Drawing for the quilt will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The winner need not be present.

The donated quilt is on display at the Bank of Gravett and will be displayed later at Arvest Bank. Tickets can be purchased at either bank. All proceeds will go toward Kiwanis Club service projects.
