GENTRY -- The Lady Pioneers were one and one in preseason play at press time on Tuesday, losing three straight sets to Pea Ridge on Aug. 18 and winning over Chouteau-Mazie in three sets on Aug. 22.
In a home game against Chouteau-Mazie, the Gentry girls won 25-18, 25-22 and 25-12. In Pea Ridge, they fell 25-15, 25-9 and 25-10 to a strong team of Pea Ridge girls.
Gentry team members on the roster include: seniors Yuliana Stasiv, Audra Weathers; juniors Hannah Boss, Jennifer Carrera, Alyssa Kelton, Chastery Fuamatu, Brekken Martin; and sophomores Bailee Pollard, Jaydon Jarnagan, Natalie Robinson, Alyssa Smith, Brently Wade, Katlyn Adams, Madison Ward, Harley Stanfield, Mystery Lee and Paige Wood.
The Gentry girls were scheduled to host West Fork on Tuesday evening (after press time).
Gravette team falls
The Lady Lions lost to Farmington on Aug. 23 and to Pea Ridge on Aug. 25.
Against Farmington, the Lions fell in five sets, winning the first and the fourth, 25-23 and 26-24, but losing sets two, three and five, 25-13, 25-12 and 15-19.
Against Pea Ridge, the Gravette girls won the second set, 25-22, but lost three, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-11.
Gravette was scheduled to host Lincoln on Tuesday after press time.
