Position open on Gravette school board

— A vacancy exists on the Gravette Public School board of education due to the recent resignation of Bryan Johnson, according to an announcement by Richard Page, superintendent of Gravette schools. Johnson resigned, effective Nov. 23, and is relocating out of the school district.

Johnson was in the second year of a five-year term on the board. Any candidate interested in filling the vacancy should present a letter of interest to the school board prior to 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12.

The person chosen to fill the position will be appointed to serve from now until the next election date in September of 2017. At that time an election will be held for the remaining three years of the five-year term.
