DECATUR --The Lady Bulldog junior high team played games against the Prairie Grove Lady Tigers and the Greenland Lady Pirates but lack of drive early in the matchup contributed to two straight losses.

Decatur struggled on the boards against a much taller and stronger Prairie Grove Tiger team. The junior Lady Tigers held Decatur scoreless throughout the first quarter and well into the second. A two-pointer by Destiny Mejia put the junior Lady Bulldogs on the scoreboard and ended Prairie Grove's first-half shutout hopes. Another two-pointer and a free throw by Mejia gave Decatur five points by the end of the half. Superior shooting by the Prairie Grove girls and a lack of drive on the part of Decatur's gave Prairie Grove a 16-point lead going into the break.

The junior Lady Bulldogs came alive in the final quarter and began to move the ball down the court and into the basket. But Decatur's efforts were not enough to overpower the Lady Tigers, who took the victory, 28-16.

It was much the same against Greenland. The junior Lady Pirates controlled the tempo of the game throughout to take a 34-17 victory back home to Greenland.

Leading the scoring for the Lady Bulldogs against the Lady Pirates was Destiny Mejia with 7, followed by Ashley Herrera with 6 and Abby Tilley with 4.
