DECATUR -- The Decatur football program received a bit of good news when veteran players Leng Lee and Brandon Coker were named to the 2A 4West conference all-district football team Nov. 28.

Lee served as quarterback and a cornerback during his high school career with the Bulldogs. He was the quarterback for his freshman team in 2013 and backup quarterback for the 2014 and 2015 senior seasons.

Lee's abilities to think quickly, combined with speed, earned him 3,631 yards during his high school career. Lee attempted 259 passes, completing 104 for 1,428 yards over the past three seasons (2014-16). On the rushing and receiving end, Lee had 306 completions for 1,276 yards while carrying the ball 16 times for 150 yards. He earned 588 yards on kick returns, 131 yards on punt returns and 58 yards in interceptions, scoring 21 touchdowns and a three-point conversion for 130 points in the three years he was with the Decatur.

Like Lee, Brandon Coker spent six years on both the junior and senior high teams. He played in several different positions, including a brief stint as center during the first few games of the 2016 season. But Coker excelled as an offensive and defensive lineman. In his high school career (2014-16) Coker had 142 tackles, 3 sacks for -17 yards, and one interception.

Both Lee and Coker were valuable assets to the Decatur football program during their junior and senior high school career. Their contributions helped to keep the football program alive, paving the way for future gridiron stars to shine in Decatur.
