Annual Chamber of Commerce quilt show concluded Friday

GENTRY -- Quilters and quilt lovers from around the region visited the annual Gentry Chamber of Commerce Quilt show sponsored by McKee Foods Corp., and held in the McKee Community Room at the Gentry Public Library last week. The show was held from Jan. 22 through Jan. 29.

Winners among the many entries included: Best of Show -- Nora Krein of Gentry; Best Hand Sewn -- Sue Etris of Decatur; Best Machine Quilted -- Shirley Williams of Gentry; Second Place Hand Sewn -- Debbie Farmer of Joplin (Mo.); Second Place Machine Quilted -- Shirley Philpott of Gentry; Best Applique -- Nora Krein of Gentry; and Viewers' Choice -- Sue Etris of Decatur for her quilt, "Symphony and Rhapsody."

The show was again deemed a success and the Chamber and area quilters look forward to another show next year.
