I'm never sure what kind of minerals to buy

Ten times a day I wonder where I put that thing or what did I start to do in here! I grabbed a salt block and then remembered I came after a sack of mineral. The days are warm and getting longer and I think the spring fever has descended upon me. I don't feel any lazier than I did last week -- have not wanted to lie around with a fishing pole in the creek -- but I sure can't trust my mind today! My close relative might say that would be normal!

Not much grass showing yet. As a matter of fact, I have not spied any, but one of the male offspring announced a sighting. The other one ridiculed his announcement and then demanded the location be given. You think boys are grown and then discover they aren't.

I am looking forward to a spring shower and mushrooms popping up. I feel like it is really spring when my close relative whips up eggs and wild onions and fried mushrooms, biscuits and gravy. That is one meal we don't talk about the calories or the bacon grease content. Sure as the sun comes up in the east we will have some offsprings and Grands in for supper. That will suit me just fine, but they had better add to the groceries! The morels are getting more scarce and the onion patches have also thinned out. I know some folks pull the onion but, to keep them producing, you gotta just cut off the tops. I use scissors or my pocket knife if I find a patch while out checking cattle and that is all I have. The old apple orchards are now almost forgotten by nature, and the mushrooms don't grow there so prolifically anymore.

Old Dog jumped a rabbit and I guess he was feeling frisky, so he chased the rabbit under a brush pile. I thought I'd help him, started pulling limbs out and then a slight tinge of odorous air hit my nose. I ran and Dog ran with me. I hope that smart-alecky rabbit stinks so bad he can't get any of his cousins to say howdy to him! At least Dog and I are safe this time!

The hay bales are being wasted, but the cattle eat enough of them to stay full. The pastures still have enough grass for some grazing and the old dry stuff isn't as tasty. They all are looking for that green stuff, and there are some cold weather weeds coming up. I know the cold isn't over yet but it sure has been a fine week of getting things taken care of in the warmth of 60- and 65-degree weather. I been thanking the Lord for such sweetness.

It is my opinion, and everyone has one, I never am sure of what kind of minerals to buy. I attended a cattlemen's meeting and the speaker was from a company selling minerals. I bought a couple of sacks of the stuff and now I am wondering if I was suckered into it. I wish my Vet would just tell me what kind to use. I know we need vitamin A, and that feller said his brand was full of it. The other feller I heard in December said vitamin A is depleted when air hits it. What am I to believe? If you fellers know the answer to this please, contact me at BR-549!
