Gravette students medalists in FCCLA State Star events

GRAVETTE -- Maddie Mitchell, an eighth grader at Gravette Middle School, and Emma Russell, a ninth grader at Gravette High School, competed in FCCLA State Star events in Little Rock on Feb. 25. Emma competed in Teach and Train and received a silver medal. Maddie competed in Life Event Planning and also received a silver medal.

The students were able to meet Governor Asa Hutchinson the day before the event. They were accompanied by Connie Nichols, FCCLA sponsor.

FCCLA is the only in-school student organization with the family as its central focus. FCCLA is a career and technical student organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences education curriculum and operations within the school system. It provides opportunities for active student participation at local, state and national events.
