Springtown Cemetery Work Day Scheduled

Springtown Cemetery Association's annual work day is from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, March 26. Interested community members, scout troops, school and service organizations are invited to participate. Bring yard tools and gloves. General cleanup activities will be followed by the annual business meeting in the new pavilion. Snacks will be served. Rain date is the following Saturday. The cemetery is located on Arkansas Highway 12 on the east edge of Springtown. Help in maintaining this beautiful, historic resting place is appreciated. For more information, call G.T. Irish Spring Fling

Harvest Baptist Church will host an "Irish Spring Fling" on Sunday, March 20. The event is sponsored by local small-group ministries and is meant to encourage the local community to get involved in church. The event will have food, fellowship, music, games, inflatable's for the kids, and a best-costume contest. Participants are encouraged to wear green and come with an attitude of fun. There is no admission charge or fee for food and fun. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and end at approximately 9 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to take part.

Indian Taco Fundraiser

Harvest Baptist Church is sponsoring an "Indian Taco" fundraising event, with all of the proceeds going towards mission work. The church will make and deliver Indian tacos locally on Wednesday, March 23, during lunch time. Those interested in delivery outside of the immediate Gravette area are asked to contact the church in advance for information about exceptions. Advance orders will be taken by local volunteers in the Gravette area, or the church may be contacted directly by calling 479-721-1650 or sending an email to [email protected]. Orders should be in by Tuesday, March 22. Be sure to include with each order a name, delivery address, and requested time for delivery.

Journey to Wholeness

An ongoing program to help people find freedom from unhealthy habits will be starting on Thursday, March 24, at the Total Life Community Center on Arkansas Highway 59, south of Gentry. The program, titled, "The Journey to Wholeness," welcomes people of all age groups who have a desire for healing and freedom from harmful practices and addictions. It provides resources and training to facilitate recovery and help in rising above and breaking free from compulsive behaviors. It also provides help and support for those who have a loved one struggling with such habits. The program follows a modified 12-step program from Alcoholics Anonymous with Biblical comparisons and Christian principles. Baked Potato Fest

A St. Patrick's Day baked potato festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at the Gravette Museum annex, 503 Charlotte Street, S.E. The meal, sponsored by the Gravette Historical Museum and the Butterfield Trail Questers Chapter #949, will feature a loaded baked potato, cookie and soft drink for $5. Meals may be purchased to dine in or carry out.

Quilting Class

A class for area quilters and crafters will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Church of Christ annex, 202 Irving St., S.W. in Gravette. Instruction will be given on a quilt block and a "show and tell" session will be held. Please bring finished projects or works in progress and a snack to share.

Prom Dress Drive

Project Princess 2016 is now accepting donations of new and gently-used prom and formal dresses in all sizes appropriate for young women (no damaged or semi-formal dresses will be accepted; prom dresses, formal evening dresses or bridesmaid dresses will be accepted). Additional items such as shawls, clutches, shoes and costume jewelry are also needed. A local drop-off event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., March 19, at the Gravette Civic Center. The goal of the drive is to make prom dresses and accessories available to girls who could not otherwise afford them. Easter Egg Hunt

First Assembly of God in Gentry is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 19 at 2 p.m. The church is located at 821 East Main Street, just east of Dollar General. In case of bad weather, the egg hunt will be re-scheduled.

Decatur East Egg Hunt

The Decatur Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, March 19, at Decatur's Veterans Park. from 10 a.m. until noon. The hunt will be divided into four age groups, ages 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Prizes will be given to the lucky finders of the golden egg in each division. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to hand out candy and help children locate hidden eggs. Sponsors are the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and Handy Mart. For more information, call 752-3912.

Gentry Easter Egg Hunt

The Gentry Chamber of Commerce will again sponsor an Easter egg hunt in the south side of the city park at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 26. The event will include prizes for all and bicycles, provided by local businesses, for a winner in each age category.

Easter Eggstravaganza

The annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be held Saturday, March 26, beginning at 10 a.m., at the Ozarks Community Hospital, 1101 Jackson Street, S.W., in Gravette, with fun for all ages. The event will be held rain or shine and will feature an egg hunt for children up to age 10, separated by age groups. The Easter bunny will be on hand to greet the youngsters. Gravette Easter Event

The Church on the Hill is hosting an Easter event, including an egg hunt, on Saturday, March 26, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Pee-Wee Football field on the corner of Birmingham and Seventh Street, S.E., in Gravette. The egg hunt is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. The event will feature free food and games, and an egg hunt with more than 2,000 eggs. The church invites the community to join in celebrating Easter and the resurrection of Jesus.

Sulphur Fundraiser

An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner is planned for Sunday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sulphur Springs Cafeteria (behind city hall). Adults are $7 and children (10 and under) are $5. Proceeds to go towards the July 4th fireworks hosted by the Sulphur Springs Parks Commission.

Sulphur Egg Hunt

Sulphur Springs Fire Department will host an Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, in the city park.

Sulphur Yard Sale

A citywide yard sale will be held on April 15 through 17 in Sulphur Springs. Contact the city of Sulphur Springs for more information.

Kite Day

Kite Day is planned from 12 noon until 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9, at Siloam Springs Municipal Airport, 20610 Smith Field Drive. The event is free, and the first 200 children will receive kite making supplies to build a kite. Children may also bring their own kite to fly. Inflatables rides will also be available as an additional activity. No registration required.

Gentry Story Time

Gentry Public Library holds Story Time with Grandma Betty each Friday. Grandma Betty will read aloud children's favorite books from 2 to 3 p.m. in the children's area of the library. For more information, call 479-736-2054.

GED Classes

Free GED classes will be held at the Gravette Public Library from 4 to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays continuing through May 13. Classes are open enrollment, so students may enroll anytime and finish when they are ready. Come by the library, 119 Main Street, S.E., to enroll, or call 479-986-6911.

Highfill Food Pantry

The Highfill United Methodist food pantry is open from 6 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. For more information, call the church at 479-736-1275.

Decatur Food Pantry

Decatur United Methodist Church has a community food pantry open the first and third Thursday of each month. The only requirement for the pantry is that one live in the 72722 zip code area. An identification and a piece of mail showing one's residence in the Decatur area is required. There is also a USDA commodity program available which is income-based. Those wishing to do so can fill out an application to see if they qualify.

Tired Iron Meetings

Tired Iron of the Ozarks meets at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesdays of the month at the club's showgrounds, 13344 Taylor Orchard Road, Gentry. The Spring Crankup show is scheduled for April 15, 16 and 17. Show times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. As usual, the shows are free to the public.

Lions Club

Gravette Lions Club meets at noon on the first Tuesday of every month at the In-Zone Restaurant on Arkansas Hwy. 59 N. in Gravette and at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at Imagine Before and After School Care, 206 Birmingham St., S.E.. The Gentry Lions Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of the month at the McKee Community Room in Gentry Public Library. New members are welcome and invited.

Gravette Kiwanis

The Gravette Kiwanis Club holds breakfast meetings at 7 a.m. each Friday at the cafeteria in Ozarks Community Hospital. Guests are welcome.

Gravette Legion

Gravette American Legion Post 25 meets at 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month at the Civic Center. All veterans are encouraged to attend.

Singing Services

Monthly singing services at Mason Valley Baptist Church Activity Center are held at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The church is located on Arkansas Hwy. 12, between Highfill and Vaughn. Everyone is invited.

Decatur VFW Meetings

VFW Post 9834 meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month. New members and guests are welcome.
