GRAVETTE -- Three runs in the bottom of the first gave the Lady Lions the edge they needed to defeat the visiting Lady Hillbillies from Ozark on Thursday, 4-1.

With two Gravette girls on base by walks, Jaki Chalk tripled on a long fly ball to center field and brought in two runners. A ground ball hit hard into left by Jacklyn Buffer drove in Chalk for another run, giving the Gravette girls a 3-0 lead at the end on one.

Jaki Chalk walked in the bottom of the third and was brought home by a line-drive single hit into left by Sumer McCall to give Gravette a 4-0 lead.

Ozark's only run came in the top of the seventh on a Gravette error.

Robin Davis was on the mound five innings for the Lady Lions and had four strikeouts. She gave up just one hit, walked none and allowed no runs.
