GRAVETTE -- Stage Coach Bridge, located 1.9 miles south of Arkansas Highway 72 on Stage Coach Road near Gravette, has reopened to traffic. Bob Clinard, Benton County Judge, held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the site last Thursday, May 19.

Bridge replacement and roadway construction on Stage Coach Road is now complete and the road has reopened, according to Benton County Road Department officials. Stage Coach Road was closed for approximately 120 days during construction of the new bridge now spanning Spavinaw Creek. The project replaced a structurally deficient bridge.

A.M. Cohron and Son, contractors, replaced the existing bridge and widened portions of the approaches for approximately $400,000. Engineering on the project was by Crafton Tull.

Judge Clinard expressed his appreciation of the local residents' patience during the time of construction.
