Highfill EH Club

GENTRY -- The Highfill E.H.C. meeting was called to order by president Peggy Dillahunty in the Gentry Library. The Pledge of Allegiance was repeated and "Hello" was sung by all 13 members present.

Roll call was answered with volunteer hours. Helene Zambrano had our inspirational thoughts. It was very good. New ideas were shared. Jeanie Hittson had a purse made from the back portion of a pair of jeans and another purse made from a jeans skirt. Both were very creative.

Irene Gilbert and Jeanette Petty made a cap from a T-shirt for cancer patients. Effie Byers showed a necklace made from potatoes. It was a craft from cultural arts.

Minutes were read and the treasurer's report was given. We discussed upcoming events.

Peggy Dillahunty presented the lesson on using herbs and spices. She had prepared a white bean dip and oven-roasted chick peas.

We are in the process of completing our tote bags for the Children's Shelter. We discussed new projects for the upcoming year. We will decide next month.

The meeting adjourned and members sampled the recipes. Next meeting is Oct. 17 in the Library. Everyone is welcome.
