GENTRY -- The Plein Air Painters of the Ozarks meet weekly to paint en plein aire (outside in the open air) on Wednesday mornings, April through November, at various locations in northwest Arkansas, and last week Wednesday brought them to The Garden Gate flower shop in Gentry to paint flowers and scenes from the garden surrounding the flower shop.

The club, with painters from across the region, meets in the outdoors and paints outdoor scenes. On Wednesday, they brought easels and paints, cameras, umbrellas and stands and went to work on their paintings.

Club member Terri Hansen of Gentry was instrumental in setting up the outing to Kelsey Klassen's flower shop in Gentry because of the garden there and the number of flowers blooming outside her shop during the spring and summer months.

Just under a dozen painters from around the area took part in the morning outing and painted in the garden, portraying garden scenes and garden flowers in bloom at The Garden Gate.
