Gravette Kiwanis hosts Mo-Ark Kiwanis governor

GRAVETTE -- Gravette Kiwanis Club members were honored at their regular meeting Friday morning to have the Mo-Ark Kiwanis governor, Roger Jespersen from Jackson, Mo., as their special guest. His district consists of part of Missouri and part of Arkansas.

Eight Gravette members attended a banquet Friday night in Springdale in his honor. Pictured are local officers, secretary Brenda Yates and president Lavon Stark, Roger Jespersen and lieutenant governor Dan Yates.

Fred Overstreet, president of the Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce, was also a guest at the Friday morning meeting. He gave the program on the barbecue competition, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, which will be held in Gravette April 1 and 2. The Kiwanis will operate a concession stand during the contest.

Gravette Kiwanis meets each Friday for breakfast at the Ozarks Community Hospital cafeteria. Guests are welcome. Anyone having questions may telephone Stark at 479-787-5678.
