— Officers of the Gravette Middle School Builders Club recently presented a $5,000 check to Malcom Winters, treasurer of the local Kiwanis Club, to be donated to the new Northwest Arkansas Children's Hospital being built in Springdale. The money was raised by Builders Club members the last couple of years in various fundraising projects.

The Builders Club is a youth organization of the Kiwanis. The Gravette Kiwanis are joining 12 other clubs in northwest Arkansas to raise funds for the hospital, which will open early in 2018. The Kiwanis have been sponsoring the hospital for 22 years but this is a special year since the money will stay in the area and serve more than 20,000 children living in northwest Arkansas.

The area clubs have committed $150,000 to be raised in the next three years and will have two rooms in the hospital designated Kiwanis rooms. The Gravette club also received $2,000 from New Technology, a Gravette business.
