Gentry Library celebration planned Oct. 20

The Gentry Public Library and the Gentry Public Library Association will host a public reception on the afternoon of Oct. 20 in celebration of both the library's 10th anniversary in the refurbished Carl Hardware Store and the intermittent existence for more than a century of a lending library in the city. Architect Marlon Blackwell won many awards for the building's design and, a decade later, the building is a vital community center and source of pride for Gentry. Along with light refreshments, the reception will include discussions with local authors, displays of Gentry historical photographs, gift basket and craft raffles, and tours of the library. The GPL and the GPLA cordially invite the public and past library board members and library staff to join in this celebration.
