Lions dominate Bobcats, pick up homecoming win

— The Lions scored a touchdown, point after and a field goal in the opening quarter, picked up 20 more points on three TDs and two PATs in the second quarter and added another goal and PAT in the final quarter for a big 37-7 win over the visiting Berryville Bobcats on homecoming night in Gravette's Lion Stadium.

Gravette senior Austin O'Brien scored all five of Gravette's touchdowns, picking up 195 rushing yards in the game. Senior kicker Chris Childress added seven points with a field goal and four PATs in the game.

Berryville's only score came on a touchdown and point after in the third quarter.

Colton Grimes intercepted a Berryville pass and picked up 43 yards on the play. Logan Rachel picked up 42 yards on punt returns.

The Lions had a total of 286 rushing yards and 86 passing yards in the game. Tajae White, Gravette quarterback, was 10 for 19 in the air, connecting with O'Brien, Rachel, Childress, Brandon Ballard, Derek Cravens, Colton Grimes and Daniel Huntsman. He also ran the ball for 78 yards on 12 carries in the game.

On the defensive side, Kenton Tajchman had a total of 14 tackles in the game, four solos and 10 assists. Chris Childress had five solo tackles. Bailey Soule' had four solos and four assists. Gunner Berger had three and six. Berger also recovered a Berryville fumble.

The Lions travel to Huntsville on Friday to take on the Eagles. Game time is 7 p.m.
