Halloween Activities

WESTSIDE -- A number of Halloween events are available for area children in the Eagle Observer coverage area. Among them are the following:

DECATUR

The Decatur Fire Department will hold its annual Trick or Treat party Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the main station on Maple Avenue in Decatur. Hot dogs, drinks, desserts and lots of candy will be on hand for the young and old to share. For more information, call the Decatur Fire Department at 479-752-3300.

First Baptist of Decatur will also hold its haunted house in the classroom area of the church from 5 to 7 p.m. To contact First Baptist of Decatur, call 479-752-3514.

GENTRY

Gentry's annual Trick or Treat on Main Street event is set for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Children are invited to come in costume and trick or treat along Main Street from City Hall east to the railroad tracks. Organizations and businesses will be passing out candy and treats at the event. For more information, contact the Gentry Chamber of Commerce Office at 479-736-2358.

HIGHFILL

Highfill will host its annual Trunk or Treat event in the city park at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, with a prize given for the best trunk. Highfill Hometown Heroes 4-H Club is hosting a pie in the face at the "Trunk or Treat." Police Chief Blake Webb, Mayor Stacy Digby, City Council Member Mark White, and Fire Chief Gene Holland are willing to take a pie to the face to raise money for the 4-H club. The city official who raises the most money and votes will walk away pie free, and he gets to throw the pies at the other three.
