Highfill EHC News

GENTRY -- Highfill E.H.C. met Sept. 18 in the Gentry Library, with 13 members present. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all. Our song, sung by all, was "Home on The Range." Roll call was answered with our volunteer hours. We had a total of 492 1/2 hours. Inspirational thoughts were shared by Helene Zambrano. It was "With Acceptance Comes Peace," a very appropriate message.

New ideas were shared. Diane Miller had three quilts, a block of the month that was appliqued, tumbling triangles and a baby quilt. Margaret Bishop had a handmade gift bag, potholder and a quilt pattern in cross stitch. Sue Etris had a counted cross-stitch picture of four seasons. Shirley Philpott had a pieced Sunbonnet Sue quilt.

We are discussing our project for next year and will decide at our next meeting.

Peggy Dillahunty had our lesson on "How to take food and keep it safe on a picnic" and presented several ideas.

The meeting closed with reading the "Homemakers Prayer."

Everyone is welcome to come to our meetings. The next will be Oct. 16 at the Gentry Library.
