Fake news has been going on a long time

The freeloaders on the rock pile are about to get on my nerves. We have barn cats that are fed cat food, a good dog who is fed the very highest-price dog food my close relative can find, and there are some bird feeders for the fine feathered friends. The cats and dog have been doing a pretty good job and the birds do make nice noises, but the demanding has begun.

I put some grain, mixed grains that looked like maize, seeds and good stuff, into the feeders. The black sunflower seeds were all gone and I thought the song-freeload-bird grain would do very well. They won't eat it, and the squirrel sat on the limb and gave me a "what for" talking to. I do not intend to be bossed around by the freeloading birds of the area, something is gonna have to give. I will report on this later.

All the calves are on the ground, with two coming this morning. The report is good, no bad weather and no big losses! Now the raising of said crop has begun, and it is always an unfolding drama to get the new ones to weaning age. I like the constant need to look at the calves early every day, make sure all of them are bright eyed and clean bottomed. The little fellers can be 100 percent and 24 hours later be dead.

We are grateful for the moisture the Lord sent and have full ponds and full ditches and soggy fields. It doesn't take long for the sun and wind to dry things out again and now is a time of great need of moisture. The grass is coming through, weeds are ahead by a length and the feller hoping for a good crop of hay is running behind again. Things are looking good from the front porch this morning so I won't try to think up a problem!

I made it to the coffee emporium for a cup pretty early today. The fellers were in fine fetter and going strong. The spring weather and the time change have increased their vigor and ability to smile longer and talk louder. The room was in a dull roar when I entered and it got considerably louder as they agreed or disagreed in conversations. All in all, it was just dandy, neighbors and friends enjoying the company of each other.

It is my opinion, and everyone has one, I am leery of trying to bring lawsuits against those who produce and print or report fake news. There is an abundance of it going on, but it has been happening for a good many years. When the first reports of high cholesterol in eggs were reported, an article I saw said a dozen eggs would kill you plumb dead! I knew I had eaten enough eggs to take care of the entire population of the United States and was still breathing so it had to be fake news. You see, it is not a new thing. The new thing is that so many, including the reporters, believe it! Bless their hearts.

You know I only report the naked truth!
