The Highfill E.H.C. met in the Gentry Library Oct.15 for its regular meeting, with no guests present. The pledge of allegiance was repeated by all. The song, "Let There Be Peas on Earth," was sung.
Roll call was answered with volunteer hours. Seven members were present, and 224 hours were reported.
Helen Zambrano gave the inspirational thoughts, "When the Cats speak English," which was enjoyed by all. Committee reports were given. Nov. 30 will be the fall council meeting. Jeanie Hittson will make the club's holiday centerpiece. The community service project will be "A Place to Call Home," and it is in Sulphur Springs.
Cultural Arts were discussed. There are several things to make. Jeanie Hittson had several stuffed pumpkins she had made. Effie Byers had the lesson entitled "Eating Healthfully with Diabetes." It was very informative.
The meeting adjourned with the reading of the Homemakers Prayer.
There was no regular meeting last in September but the club met at the library on Sept. 18 and cut and sewed 107 port pillows for Highlands Oncology Center in Rogers. Peggy Dillahunty and Mary Ellen McDowell delivered them. Twelve members worked on them.
