Gravette graduation set for Saturday

GRAVETTE -- Gravette High School seniors who wish to will be participating in a graduation ceremony Saturday evening, July 11, at 8 p.m., in Lion Stadium. All Arkansas Department of Health guidelines for outdoor venues will be followed.

School administrators were notified that their graduation plan met the criteria outlined by the ADH and the Arkansas Department of Education and say they are looking forward to celebrating with the students from the Class of 2020.

Each graduate received six tickets for family members to sit in the bleachers and two tickets for parents or guardians seated on the field. All guests will be required to show a ticket and wear a face mask to enter the stadium. Graduates will be provided with a Class of 2020 face covering at the stadium.

The graduation ceremony will be live-streamed and a link will be sent to each graduate's school email address, posted on the school district website and social media channels.

Seniors were given three options and some who did not wish to participate in the traditional ceremony will be honored at private ceremonies (with a limit of 10 guests) being scheduled on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Others chose to opt-out of a ceremony completely. Students who joined the military and have already left for boot camp had private ceremonies earlier this spring.
